Wedding season will be here soon and I’m sharing my top bridal makeup tips.
You are spending a lot of time, money and energy making sure everything will look and feel beautiful on your wedding day. A professional makeup artist will make sure you look like YOU in photos and in person. When you finally get your photos back from your photographer you’ll be so glad you hired a pro.
Knowing your relationship with makeup is very important. Chances are you probably fall into one of these categories below. This information will be helpful to share when you first communicate with your makeup artist.
I never wear it because I’m afraid of looking like a clown.
I like wearing makeup and use a couple of products like mascara, lip gloss and sometimes a tinted moisturizer but have never learned how to apply.
I have a big makeup kit full of fun products I love to experiment with.
Finding an artist for your wedding day can feel a bit overwhelming but it doesn’t have to. Lean on friends and family to suggest a makeup artist that would suit you. Ask if they also do hair styling. Your artist should be talented of course but style and personality play a big role. Does the artist have photos of fresh and natural makeup or is most of their work heavy and dark? Is it important to you that the artist uses a green/clean beauty line? These are great questions to be clear on.
Lock in your makeup artist with a contract. You want to make sure they are committed to your date/time.
Some questions to ask before you sign:
If you are planning on treating yourself to a relaxing day at the spa before your wedding day makes sure you set a date at least 1-2 weeks before. You never know what you will react to. Some products and treatments could irritate your skin. The stress of planning a wedding is enough to bring out a blemish or two, you don’t want to jeopardize a fresh face on the day. Alternately try a DIY spa day at home with your bridesmaids. It’s a great way to celebrate and connect before your wedding day. On the days leading up to your big day be sure to drink lots of water, eat a healthy diet and try to get some sleep.
